Tots 2 Seniors is a Mommy and Me class unlike any other in Los Angeles, because it brings together two special populations, seniors and children. The joy and smiles children bring to seniors and vice a versa is priceless.

In fact, the seniors wait anxiously for the children to return every week. When the seniors interact with the kids, they forget about their aches and pains and just live in the moment and have fun! I have witnessed a senior with Dementia, forget most of the things around her, and yet was able to remember a little boy’s name. The children gain so much from the class as well. They learn empathy, compassion and how much fun it can be to interact with people of all ages and stages of life. The kids are very gentle with the seniors and are always eager to give heartfelt hugs and high-fives before they leave. Clearly, Tots 2 Seniors is a “win-win” for everyone – including the adults who bring the children to the class.

Elisa Schoenfeld
Elisa Schoenfeld was born and raised in Los Angeles. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child Development from California State University, Northridge. Elisa was a member of the CSUN Child Development Club, as well as President of the Alumni Association. She also received the Faculty Leadership Award and was featured in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

Elisa has been a Mommy and Me teacher at private schools for 15 years. Now she dedicates all her time to Tots 2 Seniors.
